Burnham Memorial

The design educates citizens and honors Burnham on “his” lakefront. The memorial draws on Burnham’s collaborative spirit, combining sculpture, architecture and landform. It is modest in placement and bold in experience; contemporary and traditional; contemplative and a place of celebration. It accommodates a single visitor or a crowd of hundreds. It is a modern, simple form built of classic, durable Chicago materials – bronze, granite and limestone.
