Edible Urban Landscapes

Goose Island is the only island in Chicago, presenting acres of opportunity to showcase new thinking about sustainable urban waterfront living. Plants in layered beds are grown year round in double insulated greenhouses. Commercial markets and greens line Division Street. Historic warehouses are retrofitted into green commerce offices while new housing prototypes line the river.
