Frank V. Dudley: Conserving Native Landscape in the Metropolis

James R. Dabbert will present a program on the works of landscape painter Frank V. Dudley (1868-1957).  Dudley spent forty years of his professional life as a landscape painter and he used much of his work to promote and preserve the Indiana Dunes.  Along with fellow founding members of The Cliff Dweller, Daniel Burnham and Jens Jensen, they advocated for the Forest Preserves surrounding Chicago.

Mr. Dabbert is Director of IIT's Writing Center; he is the editor and co-author of "The Indiana Dunes Revealed: The Art of Frank V. Dudley" (2006).

This is a dinner event and during the cocktail hour from 5:30-6:30 pm Cliff Dweller, Arnold Lanzo will play music from the second decade of the 1900s. Mr. Dabbert will make his presentation at 6:30 and dinner will follow.

An exhibition of Frank V. Dudley works continue at the Cliff Dwellers until April 17.
