Burnham's Backyard

Exhibit :

The "Burnham's Backyard" exhibit, will look at the role of the 1909 Burnham Plan and the development of the Cook County Forest Preserves' Skokie Lagoons (in Glencoe).  Included will be information on Daniel Burnham, the Plan and the development of the Lagoons. Highlights include artifacts from Burnham-designed buildings on loan from the collection of Chicago cultural historian Tim Samuelson.

The Glencoe Historical Society is located at the Eklund History Center, 377 Park Ave., Glencoe, and is open Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Sundays 1-4 p.m. or by appointment. Admission is free. Call 847-835-0040 for questions or appointments.
