Pages from the Past

Pages from the Past is an American history book club that covers all aspects of American history. The first Tuesday of the month, Isle a la Cache Museum plays host to a discussion of books and topics.  Participants are encouraged to read the books in advance to engage in lively conversation.  Snacks and beverages are provided.  Books are available at local libraries or through bookstores.  "Pages from the Past" is recommended for ages 16 and older.  The Museum building is ADA-accessible.

In May 2009, the book club will celebrate the centennial of Daniel Burnham’s Plan of Chicago by reading Carl Smith’s "The Plan of Chicago: Daniel Burnham and the Remaking of the American City." Richly illustrated and incisively written, this insightful book will be indispensable to our understanding of Chicago, Burnham, and the emergence of the modern city.
