All Chicago high school students grades 9-12 were invited to submit artwork for the 15th annual City Sticker Art Contest. The 2010-2011 theme is “Burnham’s Chicago, and more than 300 area students created designs highlighting Daniel Burnham’s contributions to our city. A panel of volunteer judges—including artists and civic leaders—determined the top 10 designs, which are up to a public vote.”
You can help choose the design that will appear on approximately 1.3 million automobile windshields by clicking HERE. Sunday, December 13th is the deadline to cast your vote! The contest is intended to create city-wide awareness about Chicago’s history and to inspire students' creativity with their government. The student submitting the winning entry will receive a $1,000 savings bond award. Second and third place contestants will receive $500 and $250 savings bonds respectively. The seven remaining finalists will each receive $100 savings bonds. All finalists will be presented with honorary resolutions at a special ceremony in City Hall.
The contest is presented in partnership with the Chicago Department of Zoning and Land Use Planning, the Chicago Plan Commission and the Commission on Chicago Landmarks.
