Architect Daniel Burnham and his visionary 1909 Plan of Chicago still affects the cityscape today. Learn about Burnham’s philosophy of life that propelled his monumental efforts to build the World’s Columbian Exposition of 1893, and his participation in architectural gems such as the Rookery, the Monadnock, Orchestra Hall and more in this exciting presentation by landscape historian, Barbara Geiger. Discover how the Plan of 1909 caught the imagination of Chicagoans a hundred years ago and influences the city to this day.
