The greatest legacy of the 1909 Plan was the regional green infrastructure it created. At this reception and special program, partners from around the region will announce the next steps for key Green Legacy projects and how the region can become a green metropolis.
The Burnham Plan Centennial year has been a catalyst for multiple projects that knit together a green infrastructure for Chicago's future. From closing gaps in the 1000-mile trail and greenway system, to acres of new public space and more than 100 communities that have signed on to the Greenest Region Compact, this anniversary has shined a new light on the urgency of protecting the open space that gives our region an unsurpassed quality of life. Join public officials and the Burnham Plan Centennial Committee to celebrate success and bring together partners who will carry forward the next generation of a green infrastructure vision.
The public is welcome. To RSVP, email reception@burnhamplan100.org.
