The Calumet Ecological Park Association will host a special evening of presentations to celebrate the Burnham Plan Centennial. Presentations will focus on different aspects of planning for Calumet from the past through the present and into the future.
Presenters and their topics include:
- Rod Sellers, Southeast Chicago Historical Society- "The Burnham Plan:Impetus for Change on Chicago's Southeast Side."
- Nicole Kamins, Chicago Department of Environment- "The Calumet Initiative."
- Eleanor Roemer, Friends of the Parks- "The Last Four Miles: Completing Chicago's Lakefront."
- Shaw Chicago actors will be performing a special skit
Refreshments will be served at 6:30 p.m. and presentations will begin at 7. The public is invited to take part in this celebration and participate in future plans for the Calumet.
