Reinventing the El for the 21st Century

A layer of systems and services is introduced with a state-of-the-art magnetic levitation-based monorail over the existing El. The current rail bed is redeveloped as a linear park with bike and running paths, community gardens, and other recreational and sustainable design features. The space below is a mix of retail and public infrastructure, including water and gray water systems, algae tanks, gray water irrigation, and rain gardens, etc., specific to the needs of each neighborhood.
