A highly speculative vision of Chicago in the early twenty-second century conceives the original street pattern as an interconnected grid of green spaces that provide urban farming and leisure spaces on every “street.” The multifunctional grafted crystalline mesh spans the city, providing public transportation while distributing energy from a variety of sources including wind farming, solar heat collection, and metabolic heat harnessing.
