Edward Bennett, Daniel Burnham’s partner developing the Plan of Chicago, was responsible for a similar plan in Joliet, Illinois. A contemporary proposal builds on those ideas by developing the 1912 Union Station as a multi-modal transportation center and linking it to a revitalized Rialto Square and Will County Courts Complex.
