Loyola University Chicago presents a two-panel discussion exploring the legacy and implications of the Plan of Chicago, with a special focus on the Edgewater and Rogers Park Communities. Ecological issues and planning questions will be discussed by various speakers. [MORE]

Calumet Regionalism: Past and Future Conference

This 10th annual Calumet Heritage Conference will be led by Ann Durkin Keating, author of Chicagoland: City and Suburbs in the Railroad Age. The conference will examine the theme of regionalism in Calumet and also features a discussion on the planning history of the area by historian and author Rod Sellers. [MORE]

YOUmedia presents "Planning Our Urban Future"

As part of One Book, One Chicago programming, a group of teens is working with the Chicago Public Library's YOUmedia mentors to create digital representations of issues in their neighborhoods and offer creative solutions to these challenges. Join the teens for a special presentation of documentaries, performances and community art projects. [MORE]

Mobile Bold Plans Big Dreams Art Gallery
October 10; 11:00 am - 8:00 pm
Orange Line Elevated Train

Art on Track artists will be transforming an orange line elevated train car into a mobile art gallery. Artists will portray their ideas for the future of Chicago through sculpture, paintings and installations. Information on each plan will be available to viewers as they interact with the visual representations. [MORE]
