THE MOVING ARCHITECTS

The mission of The Moving Architects, under the direction of Erin Carlisle Norton, is to construct expert, articulate contemporary dance by allowing space to inform the creation and performance of the work. The keystone of the company is to also provide quality movement classes, workshops, residencies and public discourse.

Stops on the Line, inspired by Chicago's Union Station, premiers May 15-16, 2009 at Chicago's Church of the Epiphany. Excerpts of the work will be performed at Hyde Park Art Center on May 8, 2009 as part of Cocktails and Clay, and May 10, 2009 as part of Second Sundays.  Please see www.TheMovingArchitects.org for more details.

The Moving Architects’ 2009 performance, touring and teaching schedule is made possible in part by the Richard H. Driehaus Foundation, Chicago Seminar on Dance and Performance, The Cliff Dwellers Arts Foundation, and the Illinois Arts Council, a state agency.

Stops on the Line

The Moving Architects

Stops on the Line is an examination of Chicago’s historical Union Station as a massive architectural landmark and location for modern human transience. Movement and sound material is derived from the structure’s blueprints, historical accounts and writings, and artists’ observations and improvisations in Union Station.
