METROPOLITAN WATER RECLAMATION DISTRICT OF GREATER CHICAGO

The Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago (MWRD) has defined a three-pronged approach for The Burnham Plan Centennial Program. First, MWRD is providing significant financial support and professional expertise to the Field Museum for public programs related to the Water exhibit and developing a Water Calculator for the region’s residents to record their potable water consumption and gray water use/disposal. Second, the MWRD co-sponsors public discourse with the Illinois Humanities Council's year-long statewide All-Consuming: Conversations on Oil and Water series. The third effort will be giving tours of the Stickney Plant, the world's largest water treatment plant.
