The Calumet Sag Trail Coalition is comprised of local governments along the Cal-Sag Channel and Little Calumet River as well as other partners from local not-for-profits and County, State and Federal offices. Members include the Forest Preserve District of Cook County, the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago; Cities of Blue Island, Palos Heights, Calumet City and Lemont; Villages of Alsip, Burnham, Calumet Park, Dolton, Palos Park, Riverdale, Robbins, and Worth; Dolton Park District and Aslip Park District; National Park Service; Chicago Southland Convention and Visitors Bureau; Active Transportation Alliance; the Illinois Department of Natural Resources; South Suburban Mayors and Managers Association; Southwest Council of Mayors; and the Southeast Environmental Task Force. Another organization, the Friends of the Calumet-Sag Trail, acts as a companion in efforts to bring additional funding opportunities to the trail for construction, amenities such as informational kiosks, signage and interpretation while providing activities for it's members. Calumet-Sag TrailFederal, state and local intergovernmental collaboration and community support crystallized for the 26-mile Calumet-Sag Trail during the Burnham Plan Centennial.
