Burnham Takes the Wheel!
15th Annual Vehicle Sticker Art Design Contest
Voting Ends Sunday, December 13
Chicago’s 2010-2011 vehicle sticker theme is “Burnham’s Chicago,” and you get to help choose the design that will appear on approximately 1.3 million automobile windshields. All Chicago high school students in grades 9-12 were invited to create a sticker reflecting Daniel Burnham's contributions to Chicago and his vision for the city, and more than 300 entries from 39 high schools were submitted. A panel of volunteer judges, including artists and civic leaders, has determined the top 10 designs. Now you can review the designs and vote for your favorite. CLICK HERE TO VOTE.
The contest is intended to create city-wide awareness about Chicago’s history and to inspire students' creativity with their government. The student submitting the winning entry will receive a $1,000 savings bond award. Second and third place contestants will receive $500 and $250 savings bonds respectively. The seven remaining finalists will each receive $100 savings bonds. All finalists will be presented with honorary resolutions at a special ceremony in City Hall.
