35th Street Bridge
The suspension bridge is a self-anchored type, with cables anchored at the ends of the deck rather then in massive piers at the abutments. Its western approach is aligned with 35th Street to make the bridge visible from a distance. The bridge crosses over the railroad tracks and Lake Shore Drive in a reverse curve to provide expanded panoramic views of the park, Lake Michigan, and the Chicago skyline.
