LEADERSHIP GREATER CHICAGO

Leadership Greater Chicago inspires effective civic leadership for the Chicago area by educating, connecting and mobilizing diverse emerging leaders from the nonprofit, government, business and professional sectors. We provide these extraordinary individuals with multiple perspectives on Greater Chicago’s challenges, opportunities and resources. We connect them to each other and to the experts and activists who have the greatest impact on Chicago civic life. We inspire lifelong involvement and collaborations for community good. And we enable these talented individuals to become our civic leaders.

Celebrating its 25th anniversary year in 2009, Leadership Greater Chicago has graduated over 730 Fellows from its year-long Fellowship program.  Our Fellows lead our public, private and nonprofit institutions.  They serve on the boards of nonprofits of all sizes, covering all areas of civic life.  Fellows bring to their civic leadership the LGC ethos of  respect, understanding, open-mindedness, dialogue and inclusiveness.

As an organization dedicated to developing strong civic leadership for our city, Leadership Greater Chicago is excited to participate in the Burnham Plan Centennial's exploration of change in Chicago, including the growth of and changes in civic leadership.
