Envisioning Joliet: Burnham, Bennett, and Beyond

Envisioning Joliet: Burnham, Bennett, and Beyond

Exhibit :

This exhibit provides insight into Daniel H. Burnham and Edward H. Bennett and touches on the World's Columbian Exposition of 1893, the buildings of D.H. Burnham & Company in Joliet, Burnham's 1909 Plan of Chicago, and Bennett's 1921 Plan of Joliet.

Today, planners and architects continue to improve the city and increase its livability by expanding on Bennett's plan. With preparations for new campaigns such as the VOA Associates' transit center, the spirit of Burnham and Bennett lives on in Joliet.
