The Burnham Plan, Impetus for Change on Chicago's Southeast Side

Exhibit :

The new exhibit will showcase aspects of the 1909 Burnham Plan in relation to the Southeast side of Chicago and subsequent planning initiatives for the area. Exhibit will include: the Van Vlissingen Plan for Calumet Harbor, Metropolitan Food Center Plan, the Lake Calumet Airport Plan, South Works Development, 134th Street Redevelopment Project, and City of Chicago planning initiatives for the Calumet region and other initiatives uncovered in research. The results will be shared with local schools and social studies teachers.
