1933 Century of Progress: Discussion and Site Visit

Century in Motion Festival:  Lisa Schrenk, a noted scholar, will share fascinating details about the 1933 Century of Progress Exposition, held on the near south side in the vicinity of today’s Museum Campus. We’ll see striking images of the fairground design created by Edward Bennett and exposition buildings designed by the sons of Daniel Hudson Burnham.

Guests will be invited to an optional one-hour walking tour of the former fairgrounds beginning at 6:45pm. Event will be held at Chaddick Institute 243 S Wabash Ave, Suite 9000 (DePaul’s Computer and Digital Media building at the northeastern corner of Jackson & Wabash) on the Loop Campus. Presentation and discussion is free; walking tour is $5 with advance registration (includes round-trip CTA transportation).
