The Chicago New South Coast

This vision is for an Olympic Village on the near South Side. Taller buildings are located along Martin Luther King Drive to create a Magnificent Mile South. Street patterns are reorganized to create residential, mixed-use neighborhoods of mid- to low-rise buildings. After the Olympics, the Village will be occupied by families, singles, seniors, and students who can walk to beaches, parks, and retail (big & small), while reducing their travel times, energy use, and carbon footprint.
