The Chicago Grid

A proposal for Chicago one century hence, The Chicago Grid preserves the city’s defining street plan while speculating that future transportation systems will allow the their adaptation to green parkways for public use. An umbrella of magnetic energy hovers above the city and powers public transportation. As Roman highways still provide the basis for Europe’s roads, the grid will be the historic, geo-political base for the future growth of Chicago.
