LOOKING TOWARDS THE FUTURE

The much-anticipated Burnham Pavilion by Zaha Hadid Architects is officially open to the public this evening, Tuesday, August 4 in Millennium Park. Playing with shadow, light and space, the interior of the pavilion includes an immersive video by artist Thomas Gray. The film installation reflects Chicago's transformation and includes the voices of people throughout the region sharing their visions of the future. The video will begin playing after dusk. Zaha Hadid plans to visit Chicago in September, at which time a program at the Art Institute of Chicago is planned.

For a behind-the-scenes tour of the Burnham Pavilions, join professionals and staff involved in the project for Talks with the Team scheduled at 5:30 pm every other Wednesday through October. On August 5th Burnham Plan Centennial Executive Director Emily Harris, pavilion structural engineer Chris Rockey and Fabric Images Project Manager Gordon Hill will lead the tour.
